    L-Lysine consumption is associated with improved calcium absorption and decreased urinary excretion. Calcium plays a structural role, forming part of the bone (38%), and contributes to maintaining bone density and, consequently, its strength, thus preventing osteoporosis. L-Lysine is a precursor to hydroxyproline, which is used in collagen synthesis.
