BioBran MGN-3 is a rice bran dietary supplement treated with a unique, patented process. The rice bran is disintegrated (partially hydrolyzed) using enzymes from Shiitake mushrooms, leaving no traces of it in the final product. This results in a natural mixture of hemicelluloses, known as Arabinoxylan. Certain large polysaccharide molecules, complex carbohydrates, and plant fibers, have been shown to stimulate the immune system.
Fiber in general is helpful in reducing cholesterol levels and improving sugar metabolism. Rice bran, in particular, has also shown antiviral properties. However, plant fibers are mostly indigestible, and their potential beneficial effects are negated by the fact that they are not absorbed and are rapidly eliminated by the body.
In Biobran® MGN-3, long polysaccharide molecules are reduced to a low enough molecular weight that they can be absorbed in the small intestine and digested in the bloodstream.
Each sachet contains 2 grams of granulated powder, of which 1 gram corresponds to the arabinoxylan compound – the active ingredient.
