    Astaxanthin 5mg is a powerful free radical neutralizer.

    The astaxanthin used by Solgar comes from Haematococcus pluvialis, an algae that grows on the Hawaiian coast.
    As a xanthophyll carotenoid, it does not convert to vitamin A. However, it has enhanced antioxidant properties due to its polar structure (water and fat soluble), making it a very versatile antioxidant.

    It has antioxidant properties 10 times greater than beta-carotene and between 80 and 550 times greater than vitamin E, effectively protecting against free radical damage, acting in terms of cellular protection, the visual system, cardiovascular system, nervous functions, and skin. This capacity is particularly interesting at the level of the central nervous system. In terms of the visual system, due to its protection against free radicals, it helps prevent problems associated with age-related macular degeneration and cataracts.
