Our diet provides proportionally higher amounts of omega-6 and less omega-3, which is why it is advisable to take supplements rich in EPA and DHA. DHA contributes to the maintenance of normal brain function and vision. EPA and DHA contribute to the maintenance of normal blood pressure and normal blood triglyceride levels (beneficial effects are obtained through a daily intake of 3g and 2g of EPA + DHA).
