Descrição
INFLAÏDOL® DUO is a dietary supplement based on NKO® Krill Oil, Zingiber officinale (Ginger), Tanacetum parthenium (Tanacetum), Harpagophytum procumbens DC (Harpagophytum) and vitamins C and E, which have the following properties and functions:
NKO® Krill Oil
Like AA (arachidonic acid), DHA, and EPA, omega-3s are long-chain fatty acids. Of the omega-3 fatty acids, EPA interferes with the cyclooxygenase pathway, with AA inhibiting the synthesis of pro-inflammatory eicosanoids. DHA has the ability to inhibit the release of pro-inflammatory cytokines, which confers its anti-inflammatory properties to NKO krill oil.
Zingiber officinale (Ginger)
Ginger has the ability to suppress prostaglandin synthesis by inhibiting COX-1 and COX-2, as well as leukotriene biosynthesis by inhibiting 5-lipoxygenase. It thus has immunomodulatory and anti-inflammatory activities. It is also an antioxidant capable of mitigating or preventing the production of free radicals.
Tanacetum parthenium (Tanacetum)
The active ingredients of tansy include one or more sesquiterpene lactones, such as parthenolide, flavonoid glycosides, and pinenes. Its activity is associated with its ability to inhibit prostaglandin production, thus possessing anti-inflammatory activity.
Harpagophytum procumbens DC (Harpago)
Harpagophytum (or devil's claw) contains harpagosides as its active constituents, and its effects are related to interfering with eicosanoid synthesis and inhibiting arachidonic acid synthesis. Its therapeutic application is based on its anti-inflammatory and analgesic efficacy, particularly in relieving arthritis symptoms, particularly osteoarticular pain and stiffness.
Vitamin C
Vitamin C is a water-soluble antioxidant. It plays an important role in immune function and various oxidative/inflammatory processes, such as scavenging free radicals, preventing the initiation of chain reactions that lead to protein glycation, and protecting against lipid peroxidation.
Vitamin E
Vitamin E occurs in eight natural forms, which can be divided into two families of compounds: tocopherols and tocotrienols. Of these, the active form of vitamin E is tocopherol. Its antioxidant activity is well-recognized, protecting cells from peroxidative damage by protecting the polyunsaturated fatty acids present in cell membranes through its free radical scavenging activity.
